At the beginning of 2017 Georgia imposed new taxes for organizers of gambling games.
Owners of casinos, slot machine halls, betting shops and totalizators have to pay 10% of tax instead of prior 5%. The tax on gaming tables and slot machines was also raised. Companies will have to pay 2-4 thousand lari for each item.
The tax previously amounted to 1.5-3 thousand.
A number of Georgian experts anticipate that new rates will appear to be overwhelming for small and medium gambling enterprises.
